its arrived!

the wedding is upon me....i leave tomorrow for Missouri. i think i have all the clothes, jewelry, shoes, makeup, etc to get me through it. I've never quite prepared myself for a wedding as i have this one, especially one that I'm not even in, I'm just a guest! however i understand the reasoning behind the big hoopla and am fine with it. i actually find it funny really and cute and so typical of this particular wedding crowd. as i sit here looking out my front window of my duplex and watch the neighborhood birds take a break in the giant pear (not fruit bearing) tree I quickly compare this wedding to the birds mating. now I'm not any kind of bird expert but i do believe when they mate beyond their call, they also push out the breast of the body to show of the colors of their feathers. So that is what we are all doing, showing off and looking good which at a wedding is the one excellent place to do that. I guess I've just never been too much into fashion and all that. I'm more into what is comfortable but also looks good. I've never understood why people buy $1000+ purses or $200 shoes. Well OK the shoe thing, they are our feet and we have to take care of them so well made shoes are I suppose well worth the cost but I limit my feet clothing to $100. Anyhoo I'm going off on a tangent here...
the weather looks to be fabulous and somewhat warm for November (60 degrees) so that is excellent news. I once attended a wedding in January or was that February, anyhow it was winter and in Chicago. snow slush is what we drove thru and walked thru. my feet/shoes/bottom of pants were a mess....yuck...
OK, so remember those birds i mentioned.....jhc.....I'm starting to remember that movie "the birds"....which has forever freaked me out about large grouping of birds....which is what I have outside my window....THEY ARE EVERYWHERE....oh wait....wheww something scared them away ......they will come back I'm sure. they love my tree all year long...its kind neat in the spring b/c i see alot of mating birds flying. i have only seen one nest in the other tree near the pear tree but I've never seen them in the pear tree but I'm sure I just am missing them b/c that tree is bird heaven!
Again went off on a tangent. as i round up this blog entry I must apologize, i haven't written in it for a while. its been busy and the time i have had i have been lazy about it. hopefully this will make up for it. i will report back next week on the wedding and if i gained back that 15lbs i lost in wine and wedding food. LOL....
Toodles!

Work pitch-ins

Today is Boss's day and my area brought in breakfast food for our boss. My office is notorious about bringing in food for just about any holiday, celebration, whatever that we can think of. And its not like we all love to bake, half the time its store bought. lol My sister is amazed we don't all weigh 500 pounds because as we all know the food we bring in is far from healthy. Sure once in a while someone will bring in fruit salad. Heck I even brought salad makings once (which wasn't eaten as much as the other stuff mind you). One time instead of the typical Halloween candy bowl, when I sat at the front help desk, I brought in a bowl of fruit (apples, oranges , bananas ) .... I think one person took something in week. It was sad people! So I am start at a vanilla pound cake, a blueberry crumble cake, a frosting covered brownie, and Oj ...well I suppose the OJ is good for you. Yummmy for it all.....I couldn't resist because 1 I hadn't had breakfast so I was sta...

A Dozen Later

Okay so it hasn't been a bakers dozen of years....oh wait it has been. I can do math, yay! Anyone miss me? This blog? Guess not since even I forgot about it! Whoopsydaisy! I will eventually catch ya'll up but basically in the last 13 years I've bought a house (2011), got a new car (Jeep, 2018) and got married (2019). I also avoided catching COVID during the pandemic. The pandemic resulted me working remotly from home which resulted me to lose about 30lbs. So, I am on the downhill side of the scale. Yay! Far from my goal weight but better than I was 2 years ago! My plan is to ressurect this blog with my hopefully-still-there writing skills so I can vent out my life to readers and to entertain you at the same time so as to keep you coming back for more!

Din din....

Store bought pre-made rotisserie chicken and a single serving of steamed corn. Pretty tasty for an quickie dinner. since I've started this I've lost about 15 lbs but I tend to fluctuate those last 5 lbs. Its been, what over a month and half? Not too bad I guess but I know I could have done better had I moved more. same ol ' story with that LOL Laundry and catching up on my magazine reading is on my schedule tonight .... Speaking of...laundry is calling!!
