My father's long and quick good bye

Oh my, I have gotten behind in my writing. Alas, I have a very good reason. Life....so much has happened in the last six months...well kinda sorta...

My father passed away in late November from complications suffered after a unfortunate fall. He suffered from late stage Parkinson's so perhaps it was a blessing in disguise. The last year of his life, he was probably giving us unconscious warning signs that all sense of his prior self was gone but we somewhat refused to see it. I am still grieving and I am sure I will for life but I find myself spontaneously crying upon some memory of him almost weekly. We will hold a celebration of life in June ... no idea how well any one of us will handle that. He was an amazing man, father and husband, friend to many. My husband had surgery in November to place a PD catheter so he could do dialysis at home. Diagnosed with end stage kidney disease in April 2019, dialysis since Sept 2019 the last few years has been an education on the medical profession. I thought having my own host of various health issues, I knew a lot but apparently having chronic illness, being a caregiver, patient advocate, etc is a new ball game on health management, no less mental health mgmt. This newest chapter was to be a celebration of hope to some extent on renewing normal but new kind of life but instead its provided more questions and additional diagnosis to the growing list of issues my husband has. Frustrating for both of us, I try to keep my head up and try to stay positive and focused on the day and week's goal. Going out future is futile. I just don't have the mental capacity.

Anyway, sorry for not keeping up on this. I should put this journey as a weekly task on my work reminder list. Perhaps I would do better with completing a session. A weekly "diary" entry. IDK

Meanwhile, my birthday was on the 19th and I am contemplating one of the three in celebration of it...or at least an excuse to do it....

1. Upgrade/change out to the newest apple watch

2. Get a third ear piercing

3. Get my first tattoo - Elfquest themed.

Work pitch-ins

Today is Boss's day and my area brought in breakfast food for our boss. My office is notorious about bringing in food for just about any holiday, celebration, whatever that we can think of. And its not like we all love to bake, half the time its store bought. lol My sister is amazed we don't all weigh 500 pounds because as we all know the food we bring in is far from healthy. Sure once in a while someone will bring in fruit salad. Heck I even brought salad makings once (which wasn't eaten as much as the other stuff mind you). One time instead of the typical Halloween candy bowl, when I sat at the front help desk, I brought in a bowl of fruit (apples, oranges , bananas ) .... I think one person took something in week. It was sad people! So I am start at a vanilla pound cake, a blueberry crumble cake, a frosting covered brownie, and Oj ...well I suppose the OJ is good for you. Yummmy for it all.....I couldn't resist because 1 I hadn't had breakfast so I was sta...

A Dozen Later

Okay so it hasn't been a bakers dozen of years....oh wait it has been. I can do math, yay! Anyone miss me? This blog? Guess not since even I forgot about it! Whoopsydaisy! I will eventually catch ya'll up but basically in the last 13 years I've bought a house (2011), got a new car (Jeep, 2018) and got married (2019). I also avoided catching COVID during the pandemic. The pandemic resulted me working remotly from home which resulted me to lose about 30lbs. So, I am on the downhill side of the scale. Yay! Far from my goal weight but better than I was 2 years ago! My plan is to ressurect this blog with my hopefully-still-there writing skills so I can vent out my life to readers and to entertain you at the same time so as to keep you coming back for more!

Din din....

Store bought pre-made rotisserie chicken and a single serving of steamed corn. Pretty tasty for an quickie dinner. since I've started this I've lost about 15 lbs but I tend to fluctuate those last 5 lbs. Its been, what over a month and half? Not too bad I guess but I know I could have done better had I moved more. same ol ' story with that LOL Laundry and catching up on my magazine reading is on my schedule tonight .... Speaking of...laundry is calling!!
